Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia is unique in the size and the scope of its work. It serves as both the local and the federal prosecutor for the nation's capital.
On the local side, AUSAs assigned to the Superior Court Division prosecute cases ranging from misdemeanors to homicides.
On the federal side, AUSAs assigned to the Criminal Division prosecute federal crimes. The Civil Division further defends the United States in civil suits brought in the District of Columbia.
To be qualified for the GS-11 Information Technology Specialist, you must meet the basic requirement and the Specialized Experience. Basic Requirement: Education: A Ph.D.
or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
Education at the doctoral level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
OR Experience: Information Technology (IT)-related experience, obtained through paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, demonstrating each of the following competences: Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work until provides, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and respond appropriately.
Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Note: This basic requirement does not apply to applicants who meet the requirements for substituting education for experience at the GS-09 or GS-11 as outlined below.
AND Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to providing litigation support and Audio/Visual/Communication assignments in support of case teams and trial teams.
Examples of Specialized Experience are meeting with case teams or trial teams and providing them Information Technology concepts, methods, standards and practices as they relate to automated Litigation Support functions; developing and managing Litigation Support systems in regards to audio and visual evidence; preparing computerized presentations using a variety of software packages including database, spreadsheet, word processing, mapping, trial presentation, audio editing and video editing applications; processing and indexing digital evidence using computer litigation support software; diagnosing and resolving litigation support computer system hardware and software problems; providing technical advice on legal automation requirements and system capabilities.
(must meet 3 of the 6 examples) Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for technical, analytical, and automation services in support of the mission in the Trial Graphics Unit, eLitigation Technology Section of the Office of eLitigation at the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.
Typical work assignments include: Utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, and Audition, and other related applications to perform the following: Enhance or clarify audio, video, and images based on standard practices and protocols Track and highlight individuals and objects captured on video Redact individuals and objects captured in video Redact audio Create video compilations, maps, crime scene diagrams, simple animations, timelines, communication charts, and other information graphics Convert audio and video files to a useable format Clip and splice audio and video Synchronize transcripts to audio Printing enlargements and mounting enlargements to foam board.
Maintaining plotters and plotter supplies.
Providing guidance, training, and troubleshooting to AUSAs and paralegals on various applications and other technical aspects of intake and storage, review and editing, production and sharing, and trial preparation and presentation of audio and visual evidence.
Utilizing OnCue or other trial presentation related applications to create courtroom presentation databases Utilizing software to batch convert and rename files Utilizing software to place digital trial exhibit labels on files Checking out and maintaining equipment such as laptops, hard drives, clicker and easels.
Meeting with prosecutors, paralegals, law enforcement officials, and expert witnesses to discuss trial needs Troubleshooting technical presentation issues in grand jury and sometime court Conducting basic IT support, e.g.
printers, networking, basic connectivity related to Wi-Fi and VPN, and other tasks relevant to the case presentation.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
