Full Job Description

You will serve as an INFORMATION MANAGER in the G3-DIVISION of US MARINE CORPS FORCES, CENTRAL CMD.

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled.

Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by assisting in coordinating with joint forums and defense agencies, implementing directives and managing information processes; supporting the development of policies, helping identify information exchange procedures, and apply knowledge management to improve decision-making, prepare responses to data requests, contribute to operational planning, and ensure that policy guidance is integrated into all phases of operations; Maintaining oversight of information systems, assisting in training and content management, and provide recommendations to enhance procedures and operational support.

This position is within the Work Category 422 at Work Level Intermediate, Series and Grade GS-12.

  • You will oversee MARCENT’s comprehensive Information Management Plan, including policies, procedures, and processes to support decision-making and knowledge management across the USCENTCOM AOR.
  • You will identify and manage information exchange requirements, process flows, and integration of information technologies to facilitate efficient communication within MARCENT, coordination elements, and higher headquarters.
  • You will oversee the use and employment of Command and Control (C2) systems, software applications, and hardware for MARCENT personnel, facilities, and AOR operations.
  • You will coordinate education, training, and operational support for staff on Information Management, including garrison, contingency, exercise, and combat operations.
  • You will collect, manage, and report information management resources; advocate for program funding and ensure alignment with POM, PBD, CBTRIF, and discretionary funds.
  • You will serve as MARCENT’s principal advisor on Information Management to COMUSMARCENT, AC/S G3, Major Supported Commands, and external DOD boards (JIMB) and working groups.
  • You will develop, coordinate, and supervise MARCENT’s INFOCON policies, including Information Assurance, Operational Security, and Cyber Defense/Attack considerations.
  • You will orchestrate the Information Management Integrated Process Team (IM IPT), including assigning tasks, evaluating processes, providing guidance, and addressing training/development needs.
  • You will maintain historical information, command websites, document libraries, and post updates to support information sharing and organizational awareness.
  • You will deploy as required to support real-world operations and exercises, serving as the liaison with U.S., host nation, and treaty organization agencies to ensure interoperable Information Management procedures.
