Full Job Description

You will serve as an INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, CODE 900 of PSNS and IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will serve as first line industrial equipment mechanic supervisor charged with exercising supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing work in dry-dock maintenance, service craft or environmental sections and/or mixed trade work.
  • You will Implements high performance organization attributes as learned through training and understanding and deployment of the shipyard strategic plan.
  • You will plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools provided to process assigned units of work. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work.
  • You will monitor the status of assigned work in relation to the overall scheduled requirements including unanticipated or emergency requirements.
  • You ensure the paperwork, records (including computer records), and the technical certifications of work are kept accurate and up to date and maintain accurate records of time expended and progress on assigned jobs.
  • You will perform regular job site supervision, paying particular attention to conformance to procedures and processes and established performance goals.
  • You will lead conferences and job site consultation with engineering and other foreman/work leaders to resolve work problems and provide help and guidance to achieve maximum team effectiveness.
