Summary
This job is for a lead HVAC technician in the South Carolina Department of Corrections, where you'll oversee teams to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and kitchen equipment across state facilities.

Full Job Description
- Plan, organize, direct and coordinate through subordinates and supervisors necessary work to ensure competent installation, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and related equipment and systems at all institutions and facilities throughout the state.
- Supervise and assist in the preventive maintenance of emergency repairs of and installation of new HVAC systems and related equipment and systems.
- Review and approve requisitions and prepare specifications for materials and/or replacement equipment as needed.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire

Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:High school diploma and experience in the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems or in the operation and maintenance of HVAC mechanical and building control systems.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and five (5) years’ experience in the operation, installation, and maintenance of HVAC/refrigeration systems/and in the operation and maintenance of their respective control systems.
