The Department of Human Services, Bureau of Human Services Licensing is seeking a dedicated Human Services Licensing Representative to monitor compliance with state regulations and policies. Requirements

As a Human Services Licensing Representative, you will conduct inspections and investigations for the purpose of enforcing laws and regulations governing the licensing of personal care homes and assisted living residences. You will ensure the health and safety of personal care and assisted living residents by performing regular inspections; investigating complaints; and interviewing residents, staff, medical professionals, and law enforcement officials. You will also review technical, medical, legal, and programmatic documents to gather information used to determine compliance. This role requires strong observation and analytical skills to recommend licensing and enforcement actions, as well as the ability to determine the impact deficiencies have on facility residents. In addition, you will testify in administrative and court hearings regarding inspection findings.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Home Headquartered: This position is home headquartered which will require you to be headquartered at your home and travel to worksites in Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, and Washington counties to complete your work duties.

    In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of professional experience gathering and analyzing information in a social service or law enforcement program, and a bachelor’s degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Other Requirements:
  • You must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Southwest Region, which includes Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, and Washington counties by the time of hire.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
