Full Job Description

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) in the Naval Support Facility, of SECNAV BCNR.

GS 12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in interpreting and applying complex regulations, statutory frameworks, and Departmental policies governing military personnel records, specifically regarding discharges, retirements, and disability determinations.

Experience in managing and auditing a broad spectrum of personnel actions, including performance evaluations, promotion cycles, pay entitlements, benefits, and military awards for active-duty, reserve, and veteran populations.

Experience with reviewing procedural compliance and evaluating the adequacy of supporting evidence to adjudicate and resolve administrative errors, inequities, or injustices within official military records.

Experience in authoring formal written proceedings and providing expert-level briefings to senior Department of the Navy board members to articulate intricate findings and record-related recommendations.

  • You will be responsible for determining adequacy of supporting materials and administrative resolution of applications for correction of Navy and Marine Corps military records.
  • You will be responsible for drafting comprehensive summaries of pertinent facts, incorporating all relevant legal interpretations.
  • You will attend and participate in oral hearings and executive sessions in an advisory/consulting capacity.
  • You will present the Board with a choice of alternative dispositions and recommends the most appropriate disposition of the case, ensuring consideration of all significant factors.
