Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting the city's human resources team by managing and improving their computer systems for handling employee data, creating reports and dashboards to help with decisions, and fixing any technical issues that arise.

It's a mix of technical work like troubleshooting software and administrative tasks like updating employee records.

A good fit would be someone with a background in tech or information systems who enjoys working with HR processes and has a few years of relevant experience in a people-focused environment.

Key Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Information Management, Computer Technology, or a related field
  • Three years of progressive technical experience in a Human Resources environment
  • No substitution allowed for the required education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Management, Computer Technology, or equivalent (preferred; may substitute for up to two years of experience)
  • Ability to develop dashboards, metrics, and custom reports for HR decision-making
  • Experience with HR system maintenance, upgrades, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Skills in documenting processes and identifying efficiencies in HR systems

Join the Talent and Equity Resources/Human Resource Team at the City of Saint Paul! This role performs technical and administrative work in support of the Human Resource information systems.

Here’s what you can expect to do:

  • Assist in developing dashboards and metrics to support human resources decision making

  • Create custom reporting as requested in human resource systems

  • Support and/or complete annual internal and external reporting requirements

  • Support audits for internal compliance reviews through accurate data reporting

  • Maintain manager structure in the global HR system by partnering with HR Liaisons to update organizational changes, identify new roles, and ensure employees are aligned correctly

  • Identify opportunities to streamline human resources processes through system enhancements or automation

  • Participate in system upgrades, implementations and testing, and troubleshoot system issues

  • Document processes, workflows, and systems configurations

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, and user experience within human resource systems

Information Specific to this Position: This position is located in the City of Saint Paul, Annex Building, at 25 West 4th Street, St Paul, MN 55102. You will work a regular daytime schedule with the majority of days in the office.

Requirements
