Requirements

In this role, you will be part of the Veterans' Preference and List Management Section, where your duties will involve determining veterans' preference for candidates, assessing the candidate's Pennsylvania residency, and managing furlough processes. Additionally, you will provide consultation and guidance on policies and procedures related to merit system employment regulations as it relates to furloughs, veterans’ preference and candidate Pennsylvania residency. The selected candidate will gain a strong understanding of Act 71, the Military Affairs Act, and relevant merit system employment regulations and practices.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In-office days are worked at the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Human Resource Analyst 1 or Equal Opportunity Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of analytical experience that includes one year of professional human resource or equal opportunity experience, and a bachelor’s degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
