Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing military housing operations at a Navy base in California, including overseeing maintenance, handling resident complaints, supervising staff, and coordinating with private partners for unaccompanied sailor accommodations.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a HOUSING DIRECTOR in the Commander, Navy Installations of NAVBASE POINT LOMA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Develop directives, instructions and procedures to accomplish housing inspections and housing maintenance guidance for employees; (2) Review current expenditures for housing operations and maintenance functions, estimates cost, and develop recommendations for resources; (3) Provide supervision, assign work based on priorities, and evaluate work performance of staff; (4) Investigate and resolve occupants' concerns and complaints related to housing facilities, other occupants, and habitability conditions and recommend solutions; and and (5) Provide oversight of PPV (Public Private Venture) for Unaccompanied Housing (UH) program to maintain relationship with PPV partners, coordinate major policy changes, and manage wait list/PPV referral service for military unaccompanied sailors.

  • You will conduct New Resident Orientation (NRO) for all newly reports resident check-ins.
  • You will develop internal operating procedures relating to housing maintenance/ repairs, prepares, and submit work request for accomplishment.
  • You will implement housing related procedures and instructions, mediates, and resolves a variety of disputes between occupants and management not resolved.
  • You will perform oversight for wait list management and PPV referral service for unaccompanied sailors.
  • You will be the primary point of contact for the community director of PPV ensuring effective and efficient communication and coordination affecting the installation, residents, and PPV partners.
