Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).

The Housing Manager reports on Fisher House program operations and status directly to the National Program Manager, VA Fisher House program located in VA Central Office.
Located in Montrose, NY, this position operates under the supervision of the Medical Center Assistant Director. To qualify for this position you must meet the following requirements.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one full year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Specialized experience includes performing the duties of Housing Manager for a lodging facility and is responsible for on-site management, planning, operation, and administrative coordination of a lodging program; managing the financial and operational processes involved with a housing program, developing long and short term budgets; scheduling staff schedules; creating and maintaining housing activity calendar and events; analyzing and resolving issues/problems of the program.
AND Physical Requirements: Work is generally sedentary; however, it requires a fair amount of standing, walking, walking up and down steps, and bending.
The Housing Manager may be required to approximately lift 25-50 lbs.

Major Duties:
***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Managerial Responsibilities (35%) The Housing Manager is responsible for the financial, operations and managerial processes involved with the Fisher House program.
Utilizes resources to effectively and efficiently maintain services to achieve VA facility, Fisher House Foundation and VHA program goals.
Liaison and Communication Responsibilities (35%) The Housing Manager reports to the VA facility Deputy Director, Associate or Assistant Director; or other member of the VA medical facility leadership team.
Responsible for coordinating Fisher House accommodations for a large complex VA facility that serves as a VISN, regional and national referral center for Veterans traveling for specialty care.
Customer Service Responsibilities (15%) The Housing Manager is responsible for providing a safe and comfortable environment for Veterans, Active Duty Servicemembers and their support persons to relax and socialize outside of the clinical hospital setting.
The Housing Manager uses good judgment and sensitivity when guests are included in any activity that is intended to raise the House profile.
Supervision (15%) The Housing Manager provides administrative and task supervision to staff, volunteers and contractors assigned to the Fisher House program.
