Job Description

Summary

This job is for a night auditor at an Army recreation area's hotel in Destin, Florida, where you'll handle overnight shifts to review daily financial records, track revenues and occupancy, and assist with guest check-ins and reservations.

It's a part-time role up to 20 hours per week, ideal for someone with experience in hotel front desk or basic accounting tasks who is comfortable working nights and managing cash and credit transactions.

Full Job Description

This position is located at the Destin Army Recreation Area which is a part of Fort Benning Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR).

Incentives and Bonuses Incentives and bonuses will not be paid. This is a flexible position working 2 shifts per week, or up to 20 hours weekly. Must be available to work overnight shifts.

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: One year of work experience performing duties similar to those described above.

Examples of such duties would be those associated with working as a desk clerk or as an accounting technician. Ability to use a computer for word processing or data entry.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess one (1) year experience of working retail inventory, preparing bank slip and maintain financial records.

Possess two (2) years experience handling cash and working as a Lodging/Hotel Front Desk Clerk. **Those applicants that meet the highly preferred criteria will be referred to management first.

If no selection is made from the highly preferred applicants, applicants that meet the minimum qualifications will be sent to management. ** Major Duties:

  • Performs night audit functions. Checks front desk accounting records for accuracy, and, on a daily basis, summarizes and compiles information for the hotel's financial records.
  • Tracks room revenues, occupancy percentages, and other front desk operating statistics. Prepares daily summary of cash, check, and credit card activities reflecting the hotel's financial performance.
  • Post room charges to guest accounts. Processes credit card vouchers.
  • Verifies all account postings and balances made during the day by front desk clerks. Performs duties as desk clerk in terms of check-in/out, and reservations.
