Job Description

Summary

This job is for a front desk clerk at an Army recreation center in Hawaii, where you'll handle guest check-ins, reservations, payments, and provide information about facilities.

Full Job Description

This position is located at Pililaau Army Recreation Center, Waianae, Hawaii (Island of Oahu). Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide at the level necessary to complete required reports and use a computer for work processing or data entry.

Strong verbal communication skills and strong customer service skills. A minimum of one year experience in a hotel front desk role is preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": HIGHLY QUALIFIED CRITERIA: A minimum of six months of customer service experience in hospitality, retail, or a related industry.

Proven experience in handling cash and credit card transactions, as well as operating point-of-sale and reservation systems.

Proficiency in using computers for administrative tasks, including email correspondence and data entry.

IMPORTANT: Note: Applicants who meet both minimum qualifications and highly qualifying/best qualified criteria will be referred to the selecting official for consideration first. Major Duties:

  • Makes reservations for incoming guests based on room availability and assists clientele in the completion of required forms and registration cards.
  • Answers questions pertaining to rules and regulations governing the assignment and use of quarters; issues room keys.
  • Updates registration information on registration cards. Orients guests concerning use of facilities and equipment, and other facilities available on post.
  • Computes charges for guests checking out, receives payments and room keys; renders receipts. At end of shift, reconciles and secures cash .
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
