This role is situated within the Bureau of Design & Delivery of the Department of Transportation, specifically in the Environmental Policy and Development Division, and is based in Engineering District 6-0.
Its primary purpose is to ensure that projects undertaken by the Department in District 6-0 take into account cultural resources in a manner that is sensitive to environmental considerations.
Additionally, this position is tasked with providing effective solutions to challenges that may arise concerning cultural resource issues.
The Regional Architectural Historian plays a crucial role by supporting District Project Managers and other Department personnel in the development and execution of the historic properties components of the Department's initiatives.
These initiatives encompass the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of highway and various transportation projects, ensuring that historical integrity is preserved throughout the process.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days per pay period.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
