This job involves maintaining the outdoor areas of state facilities in Pueblo, Colorado, such as mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, repairing irrigation systems, and clearing snow to keep grounds safe and attractive.
It also includes operating heavy equipment like tractors and dump trucks, and helping with other maintenance tasks like road repairs.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in landscaping or groundskeeping who is reliable, physically fit, and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

You are required to work at your assigned work location during your scheduled work times.

This position exists to support the continued operation of the physical plant to include irrigation systems maintenance and repair, Maxicom system maintenance, and roads and asphalt maintenance and repair.
This position also exists to provide care of lawns, shrubs, flowers, and trees within the guidelines of all regulatory state and federal requirements.
Also, provides assistance to other area departments, i.e., demolition crew, underground services such as steam lines, electric lines, water and sewer lines by digging, shoring, insulating, backfilling and compacting.
This is a full-time, in-person, essential position that is required to respond in person to call backs after hours to perform essential and/or emergency services of the agency in a timely manner.
Position works various hours for coverage outside of normal business hours due to weather such as snow removal, emergencies, etc.
Call Back applies when an eligible employee is required to report to work before the start or after the end of a scheduled shift.
If there is no release from work between the call back hours and regular shift, it is considered a continuation of the shift and call back does not apply.
When call back applies, a minimum of two (2) hours of the employee’s regular base pay is guaranteed.
Eligible employees are those who are eligible for overtime, and any call back time is counted as work time.
All job offers are contingent on a successful physical exam which also includes a lift and range of motion test provided by a designated health care professional, certifying the candidate's ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
