This job involves operating heavy machinery to maintain parks, mow lawns, plant greenery, and handle construction tasks like laying sod or repairing playgrounds in Nashville's parks department.
It's a hands-on role for someone who enjoys outdoor work and leading small teams on weekends or projects.
A good fit would be a reliable person with basic education, some groundskeeping experience, and the ability to get a commercial driver's license quickly.

Operates various equipment with a gross combined vehicle weight over 26,000 lbs. and/or towing a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
GVW.Regularly Operates, Cleans, and Maintains all tools, equipment and various heavy equipment including but not limited to the following:Boom TrucksSkid SteerMini-ExcavatorsBush Hogs (Standard, Bat wing and Side Arm Bush Hogs)Stump GrindersChippersVarious mowers including the 5900 Large Area Mowers.Dump Trucks w/ Trailer.Grades and prepares athletic fields and courts.Loads trucks, lays sod and does related work for reclaiming and establishing turf area.
Mixes, pours, and finishes concrete.Waters, plants, transplants, and cultivates flora including using herbicides and chemicals.Works with a tree crew trimming and/or removing large trees and brush.Installs and repairs playground equipment, signs, fences, guardrails, and related items.Runs weekend crews.Runs project crews.Can be assigned duties of a supervisor when they are not available.
Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEEighth (8th) grade education and one (1) year of grounds maintenance experience LICENSE REQUIREDValid Driver License Note: Must obtain a Class A license in first 6 months and this position is subject to Random Drug tests.Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
