Job Description

Summary

This job involves planning and managing facilities for a U.S. Marine Corps base, including assessing building needs, creating long-term property plans, and advising leaders on construction projects.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a GENERAL ENINGEER (FACILITIES PLANNER) in the Installation and Environment Division (I&E) of MCLB ALBANY GA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector identifying and evaluating real property assets, determining space requirements, validating needs, and developing facility allowances, utilization rates, and requirement analyses.

Provide professional engineering support across planning, facilities services, repair and maintenance, safety, environmental, and GIS functions.

Exercise authority to represent the Supervisory Facilities Planner, making technical recommendations and decisions that meet professional standards.

Conduct and participate in technical conferences with higher headquarters, serviced groups, and senior officials, while preparing studies, reports, and analyses related to master planning and real property management.

  • You will lead facilities planning efforts and support the Supervisory Facilities Planner in real estate, shore facilities, and construction and maintenance project planning.
  • You will serve as a technical advisor to senior leadership on planning, design, real property management, and master planning activities.
  • You will represent the Supervisory Facilities Planner and provide authoritative technical recommendations that meet professional standards.
  • You will act as the subject-matter expert for facilities planning and make or recommend decisions on complex engineering and planning issues.
  • You will apply your knowledge of civil, electrical, mechanical, and architectural engineering to plan, coordinate, and execute installation planning and real property programs.
  • You will develop, maintain, and update the installation’s comprehensive real property master plan and related records.
  • You will plan and coordinate major construction projects—from feasibility studies and space requirement analysis through preparation of DD Form 1391 project documentation.
  • You will conduct site surveys, studies, and research to determine project needs, priorities, and compliance with long-range construction programs.
  • You will manage real property planning, including identifying facility assets, validating space requirements, and analyzing space utilization and allowances.
  • You will serve as the command expert on real property acquisition, management, and disposal, including Military Construction (MILCON) programs and applicable policies.
