Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as an engineer to guide and manage technical projects for the U.S.

Navy's advanced weapon systems, including software development, problem-solving for designs, and coordinating with teams on system improvements.

It's ideal for experienced engineers who enjoy hands-on technical oversight in a military-focused environment and have a background in engineering projects.

The role supports ongoing modifications and analysis to ensure reliable performance in naval combat systems.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 or NH-02 level in engineering, focusing on technical oversight, planning, and managing development programs
  • Professional engineering background with skills in systems modification, requirement evaluation, and performance analysis
  • Ability to provide technical guidance on AWS software development for U.S. Navy and foreign military systems
  • Experience participating in defect backlog development using tools like AEGIS TECHREP and CSEA digital engineering tools
  • Knowledge of technical interpretation of specifications, processes, tests, and resolving design problems
  • Familiarity with Combat System Engineering Agent's (CSEA) processes, including Computer Program Standard (CPS) and System Integrated Engineering Processes (SIEPs)
  • Ability to collaborate with sponsors on integrated combat system efforts

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer providing technical oversight planning, managing and coordinating various engineering development programs/projects that involve continuous systems modification, system requirement evaluation, and system performance analysis.

  • You will provide technical guidance and assistance to all organizations involved in developing AWS software for all US Navy and Foreign Military Baselines.
  • You will participate in the development of defect backlog lists for all In-Service and Maintenance AWS Baselines utilizing AEGIS TECHREP digital engineering and CSEA tools.
  • You will provide technical interpretation of specifications, methods, processes, tests, and resolution of design problems.
  • You will participate in all development activities conducted under the Combat System Engineering Agent's (CSEA's) Computer Program Standard (CPS) and System Integrated Engineering Processes (SIEPs).
  • You will participate in the development of defect backlog lists for all In-Service and Maintenance AWS Baselines utilizing AEGIS TECHREP digital engineering and CSEA tools.
  • You will work in conjunction with sponsors to collaborate on efforts being completed at the Forge supporting AWS and Integrated Combat System (ICS).
