Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team that tests and integrates advanced combat systems on Navy destroyers to ensure they work properly before delivery to the fleet.

You'll guide testing processes, solve technical issues, and coordinate with contractors and other groups to meet project goals.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Combat Systems Group Leader in the AEGIS Test Team Division, AEGIS Destroyer (DDG-51) Project Office of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING BATH.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical direction or guidance in the resolution of AEGIS Combat Systems (ACS) or Ship Self Defense Systems (SSDS) testing to ensure effective execution of test program.

  • You will lead tasking for the group related to test program conduct including; specifications, technical manuals, test procedures, test problem reports, test inspection reports, test witness reports, and trouble failure reports.
  • You will be responsible for coaching, facilitating, solving work problems, and participating in the work of the group.
  • You will provides guidance to Government and contractor personnel regarding Government conducted requirements for Testing.
  • You will facilitate the development of objectives, goals, and standards for various teams associated with the Test Program on AEGIS ships.
  • You will provide expert advice to enable the definition and production of AEGIS Combat Systems (ACS) Test related requirements and products.
  • You will establish and maintain effective communication and liaison with other process groups to facilitate planning/execution of test program and to expedite resolutions and corrections to achieving successful delivery of the ship to the Navy.
  • You will analyze requirements and ensure all infrastructure and required support is provided for the completion of in-port and at-sea testing, and subsequent delivery of the ship to the Navy.
  • You will act as a consultant for other Government personnel and coordinates waterfront support as required in support of all the overall test program.
  • You will ensure proper systems integration and interface requirements are satisfied during shipboard test program and post-delivery testing periods.
