The primary purpose of this position is to provide clerical and administrative support to the organization in which the position resides.
At this grade level, you will provide direct assistance to specialists or analysts and/or processes a wide variety of transactions for more than one type of assigned activity or functional specialization.
You are regularly tasked with independently resolving recurring clerical issues and problems in office administration.
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-04/10/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience.
To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time).
If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount qualified specialized experience.
SELECTIVE FACTOR: Must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute typing sample with three or fewer errors is required.

- AND - To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors).
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience for this position includes performance of clerical and administrative duties to support general administrative and/or human resources function of a business, agency, or organization.
Examples include typing letters, memos, compiling data, maintaining confidential records, assisting with preparing paperwork for personnel actions, assisting with workers compensation claims, or other like functions; experience preparing time and attendance, the administrative processes and procedures in travel, and knowledge of commonly used software including word processing.
You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
The primary purpose of the position is to provide administrative support to the Business Manager, Superintendent and staff, on the practical and clerical aspects of office administration, to include human resources, budget, acquisition and property management, and other administrative support services, and to perform staff support work in each of these areas.
A broad working knowledge of special or complex procedure or practice in these areas is required to facilitate the processing of a wide variety of transactions in these many functional specializations.
