Requirements

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will provide clerical support to the Laurel Hill State Park Complex (Laurel Hill, Kooser and Laurel Ridge State Parks). You will be responsible for front desk customer service duties such as answering phone calls, managing email correspondence, greeting visitors, and providing assistance and information to enhance their experience within the park. You will answer telephone and written inquiries; maintain files; perform arithmetic computations including daily reconciliation of Park Reservation System cash drawer; and will operate office and mail processing machines such as calculator, cash drawer software, copier, fax machine, laminator, postage meter, scanner and labeling machine.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time, seasonal employment with no healthcare benefits.
    • There is not an option to buy into health care benefits.
  • Days/shifts will vary, will work 5 days/37.5 hours per week to include holidays and weekends
    • The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay.
    • The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $18.46 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
