About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate for Resource Management (DRM), U.S.

Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in Resource Management, Financial Management This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Access to Medical and Dental Care in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba is extremely limited.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes technical work assisting with preparing financial reports; supporting cash accountability; and preparing financial documents.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as a Financial Degree or Accounting.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9.

Add the two percentages Major Duties:

  • Account maintenance and accounting support work requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures to examine, verify and maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports.
  • Technical work in support of the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items which includes handling cash items or use of cash accountability control methods.
  • Examine of documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, compliance with regulations for goods and services provided to or by the Government.
  • Determining pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government.
