Full Job Description
The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) has one of the most noble and fulfilling purposes in state government: to improve educational equity and quality and you can be a part of this. USBE is looking for motivated individuals to fill its Financial Analyst positions and bring some fun and positive energy to their financial operations section.This is a hybrid position with 2 days in office and 3 days remote.
Principal Duties
These positions will be responsible for managing assigned budgets and ensuring compliance. Additional duties include:
- Performing accounting and budget activities
- Researching and reviewing financial records, schedules, reports and/or problem areas
- Reconciling financial statement and reports
- Reviewing fiscal operations to ensure integrity, accuracy, and control of data
The ideal candidate is someone who possesses:
- Experience using the FINET accounting system used by the State of Utah
- Has 2 years of professional experience in an accounting/finance or related role
- Has professional experience monitoring grants
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn and adapt to changes
