Specialized experience is defined as: Actively contributes to senior management planning, policy formulation, and key decision-making processes, serving as a subject matter expert on all accounting and financial management matters.

This role exercises crucial oversight over several key organizational units while providing strategic direction and leadership to a team of professional and technical staff.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-14 or higher grade in Federal Service.

** The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing.

** You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major Duties:

  • Incumbent interprets, clarifies and implements DoD and DFAS resource management guidance for the senior executive
  • Ensures proper financial controls and documentation are maintained.
  • Provides expert advice and guidance regarding the overall accounting and financial management of resources.
  • Advises central and field sites on the economies of their plans and operations and on customer revenue/billing issues and recommended solutions
