Full Job Description

This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for providing guidance, direction, information, and specialized services for assigned areas.

Leads or participates in committees, review panels, ad hoc study groups, conferences, workshops and/or seminars in assigned areas.

You may qualify at the GS-14 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Conducting comprehensive program analysis of country programs such as: Foreign Military Financing (FMF) and Foreign Military Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to develop internal controls that will ensure optimum use of financial resources Analyzing and applying problem solving methods to identify problems, draw conclusions, make recommendations and provide solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness Utilizing automated accounting software and systems and on-line budgeting processes Interpreting and applying DoD budget and financial business processes and directives.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

As a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0501-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Designs and conducts broad and complex program studies where the boundaries of the studies are extremely broad and difficult to determine in advance.

Develops the actual limits of the project as the study proceeds.

Identifies and proposes solutions to management problems characterized by their breadth, importance, and severity, and for which previous studies and established management techniques were often inadequate or unidentified.
