Summary

This role involves analyzing financial systems and processes to ensure they run smoothly, comply with rules, and support the Defense Department's accounting needs.

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience analyzing financial systems and processes to ensure business continuity and compliance with legal and policy requirements; formulating and interpreting financial management policy; and applying your knowledge to support financial and accounting systems.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.

** The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing.

** You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major Duties:

  • Identifies and evaluates whether functional requirements are met by current or will be met by future finance and accounting systems.
  • Documents business requirements and communicates these requirements to the operational and development teams for the design and implementation of business solutions.
  • Communicates and interprets operations priorities for each organization in order to analyze effective business solutions.
  • Maintains the requirements toolkit for assigned areas. Maintains a repository of business rules, systems interfaces and test requirements against which alternate solutions can be assessed.
  • Conducts analysis, review and study of program goals and priorities to support Center of Excellence Division mission.
