Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as experience reviewing and analyzing financial programs by examining existing regulations, policies and procedures and/or identifying problems to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of finance, accounting, and administrative operations.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher grade in Federal Service.

** The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing.

** You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major Duties:

  • Analyzes, plans, and evaluates directorate functions to determine validity, propriety, accuracy, and adequacy of work processes
  • Reviews and analyzes a variety of reports received from internal and external sources, including reports produced by automated systems.
  • Performs quality control examinations of operations, policies, procedures, and internal controls including the analysis of data and information
  • Receives special projects pertaining to improperly processed transactions resulting from newly legislated and implemented entitlements
  • Applies financial analysis financial management analysis knowledge of automated systems and related regulatory and statutory requirements to identify financial management problems
