Full Job Description

This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research & Engineering (OUSW(R&E)).

The USW(R&E) serves as the Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for research, development, and prototyping activities within the Department of War (DoW).

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

You may qualify at the NH-04 (GS-14/15) level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13) grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to: Conducts research, analysis, and reconciliation of accounting data related to obligations, expenditures, and disbursements.

Focuses on acquisition contracts and financial execution, by leveraging financial management systems (e.g., DAI) to support financial management-related activities which includes: budget reconciliation, unmatched transactions (UMT), unliquidated obligations (ULO), unmatched disbursement (UMD), and dormant account reviews.

Integrates fiscal systems with program initiatives and employs advanced technology for data management.

Prepares detailed reports on audit findings and presenting recommendations for improving efficiencies and controls.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
