This job involves working as a financial analyst for Utah's Division of Technology Services, where you'll examine past and current financial data, create forecasts and budgets, and offer insights to help the team make smart decisions on expenses and strategies.
You'll collaborate with IT groups like hosting and networks to track performance and improve processes.

Analyzing current and past financial data and performanceProviding financial models and forecastingEvaluating current capital expenditures and depreciationIdentifying trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvementAssist with the analyzing of actual results against plan and forecast and prepare analysis as requiredCoordinating with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecastsDetailed analysis, with understanding of key drivers, to forecast cost trendsDevelop a detailed understanding of business processes, looking for both control gaps and opportunities to gain process efficiency.Preparing reports and projections based on analysisIllustrating financial trends with charts and graphsAd-Hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as requiredProvide oversight and mentorship as needed Qualifications Detail oriented, with unquestionable integrity and credibility.Ability to “connect the dots” for others across multiple data points, make connections upstream/downstream that may not be easily noticeable.Skilled in using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Presenting creative and logical solutions to identified problems.Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of findings and recommendations.Drives solid understanding of cost structure/drivers by division/BU and partners with the ops leadership team to drive productivity.Demonstrates strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.Communicates and demonstrates judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal customers within a matrix organization.Possesses initiative, enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity, a positive attitude and ability to perform as a team player.Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of management.Highly motivated and proactive, with strong organizational and project management skills to multitask and manage workload to timely completion.Works independently, meets deadlines.
