This job involves overseeing the daily operations of cleaning, maintenance, and support services in a specific building or zone at the Smithsonian Institution, including managing teams of workers and coordinating special events.

This position is located in Smithsonian Facilities (FM), The Office of Facilities Mangement (OFM).
The Office of Facilities Management (OFM) is responsible for providing the full range of buildign services through eight mantenance and operational zones.

The Facilities Services Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementation of all building/facilities services, laborer, custodial and materials handling operations within the zone/building.
In this position, you will: Plan, direct, monitor and manage the operations of a zone/building in the day-to-day oversight of a large cleaning operation, labor and moving services, and special event coordination.
Perform the full range of supervisory functions for Building and Facilities Services, Custodial, Laborer, and Materials Handling staff.
Use a maintenance management computer software system (Facility Center) for timekeeping, purchasing, work order management and reporting.
