Summary

This job is an administrative support role at the Pennsylvania Game Commission's headquarters in Harrisburg, where you'll handle scheduling, correspondence, and communications for the Executive Director and state-appointed Commissioners.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for an ambitious Executive Secretary 2 for their headquarters office in Harrisburg. In this role, you will provide administrative support to the Executive Director and Governor-appointed Commissioners. Requirements

In this important role, you will serve as confidential secretary and sole source of administrative support to the Executive Director and Governor-appointed Commissioners, with the majority of your work performed independently.

You can expect to relieve the Executive Director of details pertaining to the control of work agenda, processing of inter and intra departmental written correspondence, and preparation of travel itinerary.

This position establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, legislators, and the general public.

In addition, work includes gathering information from the public, resolving complaints and working as liaison for the Executive Director among Commissioners and staff.

You will have the opportunity to communicate with staff of other state agencies and Game Commission bureaus on a variety of topics.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 45-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.

    Telework is not permitted during the initial six-month probationary period; eligibility may be granted upon its successful completion.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in secretarial work. Appropriate formal post high school secretarial training may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis up to four years; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
