Job Description

Summary

This job involves overseeing environmental compliance for a U.S.

Marine Corps installation in Hawaii, including reviewing plans, analyzing studies, and managing programs to follow laws that protect the environment and public health.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related field meeting Basic Education Requirements for the 0819 series

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-07 level (for GS-09) ensuring compliance with environmental laws in various programs
  • Ability to review environmental plans, designs, and projects for regulatory compliance

  • Proficiency in drafting environmental permits and documenting compliance practices

GS-11: In addition to the Basic Education Requirements found below, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector serving as a technical authority for environmental compliance program management and for the resolution of environmental compliance problem occurred in the operation and maintenance of an installation.

GS-09: In addition to the Basic Education Requirements found below, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations in various environmental programs within an installation.

  • You will review proposed environmental plans, designs and projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • You will analyze results of environmental studies to determine corrective action for compliance issues.
  • You will determine resource requirements for environmental compliance programs.
  • You will monitor environmental compliance projects to ensure they are programmed, budgeted, funded and executed by set deadlines.
  • You will draft environmental permits to ensure agency compliance with environmental regulations and laws.
  • You will document objectives, standards, guides, and practices to protect and improve human health and the environment.
