Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage environmental protection efforts at a naval shipyard in Hawaii, ensuring all activities follow federal, state, and local rules to prevent pollution.

You'll plan projects, guide engineers and specialists, and update policies to solve compliance issues.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER in the Environmental Division (Code 106.3); Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Office of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer evaluating or developing an environmental protection program's processes, plans, or inspections required for compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations.

  • You will oversee the planning, development, and implementation of the environmental protection plans/directives/projects that are required for compliance with Federal, State, local laws, regulations and Navy policy.
  • You will direct Environmental Engineers and Environmental Protection Specialists in a broad range of technical and administrative efforts to implement these Environmental Programs to prevent pollution.
  • You will provide technical guidance in environmental protection compliance and pollution prevention matters.
  • You will revise/update established policies and procedures in order to resolve problems.
  • You will plan and control employee assignments to ensure a satisfactory degree of quantity and quality of work is performed.
  • You will plan and assign work to be accomplished, set priorities and goals, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • You will rewrite, accept, amend or reject employee work and resolve technical problems that employees cannot resolve.
