Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading efforts to design and implement security features in tiny electronic components used in naval weapons and ships, ensuring sensitive information stays protected from threats.
It requires providing expert guidance across different naval teams to apply consistent security standards.
Ideal candidates are experienced engineers or scientists with a strong background in electronics security and leadership in technical projects.
You will serve as an ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Global Deterrence and Defense Department (GX), Trusted Microelectronics Division (GXV) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical and administrative leadership in design, development, implementation, and assessment of security measures in microelectronics to protect critical program information within Naval Weapons Systems and Platforms.
