Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading efforts to design and implement security features in tiny electronic components used in naval weapons and ships, ensuring sensitive information stays protected from threats.

It requires providing expert guidance across different naval teams to apply consistent security standards.

Ideal candidates are experienced engineers or scientists with a strong background in electronics security and leadership in technical projects.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12/13 or ND-04 in microelectronics security for naval systems
  • Basic qualifications in engineering (0801), physical sciences (1301), mathematics/statistics (1501), operations research (1515), or computer science (1550)
  • Technical leadership in design, development, implementation, and assessment of security measures
  • Experience protecting critical program information in weapons systems and platforms
  • Ability to provide oversight for cross-Systems Command Anti-Tamper initiatives
  • Knowledge of best practices and technical standards in microelectronics security

Full Job Description

You will serve as an ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Global Deterrence and Defense Department (GX), Trusted Microelectronics Division (GXV) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical and administrative leadership in design, development, implementation, and assessment of security measures in microelectronics to protect critical program information within Naval Weapons Systems and Platforms.
