Base salary range: $74,441 - $96,770

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves providing expert technical support for maintaining and repairing mechanical systems like elevators and cranes on U.S.
Navy ships, including troubleshooting, overseeing repairs, and training ship crews.
It requires hands-on experience in mechanical and hydraulic repairs in maritime settings, along with leadership to manage projects under pressure.
A good fit would be someone with a strong background in industrial maintenance, project coordination, and clear communication skills, ideally from military or shipyard environments.

Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) of NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY.
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Possesses an extensive background combining hands-on and technical assistance experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of elevators, cranes, complex mechanical and hydraulic systems in maritime and industrial environments.
Demonstrates significant leadership and project management skills with supervisory experience, including planning, directing, and overseeing multiple tasks as a subject matter expert, often under stressful conditions.
Holds comprehensive knowledge of large-scale fleet maintenance management programs, organizations, and policies.
Exhibits advanced communication skills, with proven experience reporting complex technical findings, providing detailed recommendations, and navigating controversial issues effectively both orally and in writing.
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Possesses extensive hands-on experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex mechanical and hydraulic systems, such as elevators, cranes, and related machinery, within a maritime or industrial environment.
Demonstrates proven experience in leadership capacity, with responsibility for planning, organizing, and directing projects and maintenance procedures for mechanical systems.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of large-scale maintenance management programs and policies.
Exhibits strong oral and written communication skills, with experience in reporting technical findings and detailing repair procedures.
