Job Description

Summary

This job involves creating and teaching training programs for engineering staff at a naval shipyard, focusing on ship and submarine repair processes to help workers qualify for their roles.

You'll design courses, deliver lectures, prepare exams, and track personnel progress to ensure everyone meets technical standards.

Full Job Description

You will serve as an Engineering Technician (Instructor) in the Engineering & Planning Department (200) of PSNS and IMF.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and interpreting technical engineering requirements to develop personnel through knowledge and work exposure of engineering principles, waterfront support processes, and experience-based methods in support of the repair and overhaul of ships and/or submarine systems.

  • You will design and modify training courses to meet management training objectives for Chief Test Engineers, senior engineering managers and supervisors, engineers, technicians, and others.
  • You will Present lectures and assist students with problems.
  • You will generate correspondence and maintain personnel files related to the qualification status of personnel at the Shipyard.
  • You will prepare and review written and/or oral examinations for technical accuracy.
  • You will prepare lesson plans, training aids, and periodic examinations for Engineering Qualification.
