Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves overseeing engineering repairs, modifications, and modernizations on naval ships at a forward-deployed maintenance center, ensuring work by contractors meets technical standards and regulations.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in shipbuilding or repair trades, who enjoys coordinating with teams and managing complex projects in a military or industrial setting.
You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Waterfront Operations Department of FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using Modernization Process specifications, laws, and regulations to work the ship availabilities; 2) Applying technical and engineering methods to the test and evaluation of equipment associated with shipbuilding/repair modernization; 3) Executing permanent and nonpermanent alterations to complete vessel repairs; and 4) Repairing/modifying/overhauling ships using various trades and crafts (i.e.
shipwright, ship fitter, sheet metal, pipefitter, welder, etc.). NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.
