Shift Requirements: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, flex schedule available; some travel - this position may require occasional overtime

As an Engineering Office Assistant 2, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide administrative support to the Director, Assistant Director, and staff within the Maintenance Bureau, as well as field personnel.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the administration, planning, and development of Maintenance Bureau programs and contracts.
  • Coordinate and support bureau and statewide meetings/committees, including preparing detailed attendance records and meeting minutes.
  • Schedule and coordinate out-of-state travel arrangements for the Maintenance Bureau.
  • Participate in committees and initiatives such as the Compass Mentoring Program.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

  1. All of the following (a and b):
    1. Graduation from high school, GED, or equivalency; and
    2. A total of five years of full-time experience in highway design, maintenance, construction, or materials; or administrative support in inventory management, training programs, administrative recordkeeping or closely related areas.
  2. A total of five years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
  3. Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full-time work as an Engineering Office Assistant 1 or three years of full-time work experience in highway design, maintenance, construction, or materials.
