Summary

WF260030 – Employment Programs Specialist, Senior – Kanawha County

Exempt Position

At WorkForce, WV (WFWV), this position is in the Unemployment Compensation Benefits & Technical Support unit.

This position is responsible for timely and accurately completing a wide variety of federal reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

Responsible for the reporting functions for internal reports, completing them timely and accurately, and distributing to appropriate staff as necessary.

Assists with ensuring workflow within the unit is handled in a manner that allows staff to process federal and internal reports in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.

Reviews and monitors daily reports and work items to ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to and that timeliness goals are met within the unit.

Responsible for billing other states for the use of their wages in West Virginia claims and for authorizing reimbursement to other states who have used West Virginia wages in their claims under the Combined Wage Claims program.

This includes ensuring payments owed were reimbursed as required.

Coordinates Budget & Statistics work with other areas within the agency, State and Federal representatives, programming staff, accounting staff, etc., thus ensuring projects and work are completed correctly and within designated timeframes.

Develops complex technical programming requirements between the UI program and various entities to relate statistical data that is mandated by the Department of Labor.

Must be able to multi-task to ensure that work is completed both accurately and in a timely manner.

Due to various job functions within this unit having time sensitive work items, this position will also have to serve as a back-up for various employees within the unit and other units under the Benefit & Technical Support section.

Must be proficient in several Microsoft Office/Google programs including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc.

Could potentially work on a variety of special projects, such as automation projects, State Quality Service Plan, modernization, training, Department of Labor revisions, etc., and any other duties as assigned.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Please note, this is an Exempt position and is not covered under the merit system administered by the West Virginia Division of Personnel.
