Full Job Description

You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN SUPERVISOR 1 in the Electrical/Electronis Shop (Code 950), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.

Ability to apply knowledge of Submarine and/or Surface ship systems, components, compartments and tanks. Ability to utilize Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) processes.

Ability to utilize skills in Reactor Plant Trades and basic nuclear trades.

Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and local procedures; and Abiltiy to demonstrate skills and processes required for the formal electrician trade including conducting quality checks or inspections of electrical equipment or products.

• You will serve as a first line Electrician Supervisor charged with exercising supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing electrician work.
• You will be responsible for the quality and quantity of the work performed by subordinates, requiring the application of expert knowledge of the methods, techniques, processes, procedures, tools, materials, and practices of the electrician trade.
• You will plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools for the assigned units of work.
• You will conduct planning reviews with assigned personnel, engineers, and technicians of support codes when needed.
• You will monitor the status of assigned work in relation to the overall scheduled requirements.
