Summary

This job involves installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in buildings and structures for the U.S. Marine Corps in Virginia, including troubleshooting issues and testing generators.

  • You will install, repair or replace, modify, load, and test new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls located in and near installation buildings and structures.
  • You will troubleshoot problem areas and inspect for defective equipment and faulty wiring.
  • You will work from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to determine the necessary and proper repairs and/or replacements.
  • You will use and maintain various types of hand and/or power tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, soldering irons, cable pullers, hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines.
  • You will test and maintain gasoline and diesel generators for proper electrical output.
