Requirements

As an Electrician 1, you will serve as a vital technical specialist responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of de-energized electrical systems. This role involves managing single and three-phase power distribution networks and signal systems, requiring the ability to troubleshoot, modify, and replace critical components to ensure operational readiness. To minimize operational impact, you will coordinate directly with facility occupants to schedule planned power interruptions for necessary repairs.

A significant portion of your work will focus on diagnostic precision and compliance. By utilizing advanced testing devices, meters, and recorders, you will identify faults with motor controllers and distribution equipment, interpreting results to ensure all work aligns strictly with the most recent National Electrical Code. These troubleshooting efforts are supported by a deep analysis of layout drawings, wiring schematics, and construction characteristics. Furthermore, you will oversee recurring and non-recurring maintenance, covering tasks such as calibration, lubrication, and cleaning, while simultaneously tracking and inspecting electrical distribution maintenance performed by external contractors to guarantee quality and safety standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (7.5 hours per day; 37.5 hours per week)
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (1st shift), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
  • In this position, you will be considered an essential employee and be required to work during emergencies and office closings.
  • Overtime as operationally necessary
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap Air National Guard Airbase.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
