Job Description
This position is responsible for a wide range of elections tasks for Elections Staffing and Training. Responsibilities include duties such as assisting with poll official staffing and placement requirements for various polling locations per policy; assisting with developing and updating poll official training material such as print, virtual and online training resources; and engaging with poll officials to address inquires and concerns. The incumbent is also responsible for assisting with processing payments to poll officials. Some positions supervise lower-level staff. At the full performance level essential duties include:

Essential Duties
  • Reviewing voter registration applications and informing applicants of any deficiencies. Researching and processing address conflict information received from voter registration staff to help determine the eligibility of potential voters
  • Entering new registrations, changes, and deletions into computer system and scanning voters' signatures into automated files. Maintaining files and databases on precincts, election workers, and election statistics
  • Ensuring voter registration records are processed and maintained in compliance with State and Federal law and reviewing and filing campaign disclosures
  • Assisting with in-person and virtual poll official training and providing training materials to Deputy Registrars and generating and printing various reports from state and county computer systems and other electronic files.

    Reviewing documents, forms and training material and recommending changes and updates

  • Assisting with ballot proofing, absentee voting process, and election night procedures
  • Coordinating the preparation, distribution, and collection of election supplies and equipment
  • Supervising temporary employees responsible for supporting the staffing and training of poll officials and collaborating with Human Resources regarding the hiring of poll officials and on-boarding tasks
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and reporting on poll official staffing levels and recommending adjustments to ensure adequate staffing and assisting with preparation, process, review, and submission of poll official payroll.

    Conducting evaluations of poll officials to determine any necessary action. Assisting with the maintenance of poll official attendance schedules, records, and certificates

  • Providing call center and technical support to poll officials
  • Performing other duties of a similar nature or level
Public Speaking Duties
  • Conducting in-person and virtual poll official training
  • Conducting poll official recruitment and onboarding events
Elections Associate I - B21 (1) - $40,101.00 - $46,117.00
  • High School Diploma or GED. OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential voter registration, general elections, or elections supplies duties will also be considered.
  • Valid driver's license

Elections Associate II - B23 (1) - $47,424.00 - $54,538.00
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three years of elections experience related to providing administrative support, tracking time and attendance, performing payroll functions, and facilitating onboarding activities.

    ORAn equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.

  • Valid driver's license
