This job is for an experienced occupational therapist at a transitional care facility in Burien, Washington, helping youth aged 13-17 with intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, or substance use disorders learn self-care and daily living skills through therapy sessions and team collaboration.
The role involves assessing needs, creating treatment plans, supervising assistants, and consulting on workplace safety to prevent injuries.
It's ideal for licensed therapists with at least three years of experience who enjoy working with young people in a supportive, interdisciplinary environment and can handle stressful situations.
At Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility in beautiful Burien, Washington, our team works to serve youth ages 13 to 17 who have co-occurring intellectual and developmental disabilities. Facility staff work alongside youth, empowering them to learn self-care skills so that they can thrive.
King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use.
Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
As an Occupational Therapist 3, you will be involved in coordinating facility activities and programs.
You will conduct workplace consultations to assist the facility in preventing musculoskeletal injuries or adjusting job roles for safer and more comfortable work environments.
You will work under general supervision, administering occupational therapy services, and function as the sole professional occupational therapist.
