Job Description

Summary

This job involves operating and maintaining digital and offset printing presses in a county facilities print shop, including setting up equipment, processing plates, and performing routine cleaning and upkeep.

It's a hands-on role focused on producing printed materials without any supervisory duties.

A good fit would be someone with practical experience in printing technology who is detail-oriented, physically capable of light lifting, and comfortable working independently or in a team.

Key Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years of related technical experience in printing or press operations
  • Ability to set up and operate sheet-fed offset printing presses
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining digital presses
  • Skills in processing plates using computer-to-plate systems

Full Job Description

The Digital & Offset Press Operator will be responsible for assisting with the daily functions of the Print Shop including using advanced skills to set up and operate sheet-fed offset printing press to print single and spot color materials from plates.

Operate and maintain all digital presses. Process plates through the use of the computer to plate system. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Four (4) years of related technical experience.

Additional Information

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent may be required to bend, hear, keyboard, sit, stand, talk, work alone and with others, and work overtime. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
