  • Skills in creating user interface mock-ups and wireframes using Figma
  • Ability to perform data validation, quality checks, and ensure dashboard reliability and performance
  • Knowledge of graphic design principles and visual hierarchy for effective data visualization
  • Experience in documentation, such as writing SOPs, meeting notes, and supporting data governance and project management

Full Job Description

The Data Warehouse Specialist 1 is responsible for the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of internal and external dashboards to support organizational decision-making across multiple departments. This role collaborates closely with database administrators (DBAs) to validate data accuracy and ensure reporting solutions are reliable and optimized. The specialist utilizes tools such as SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Power BI, Figma, Tableau Server, Tableau Desktop, Tableau Data Prep, to create and distribute data visualization.


General Skills & Duties:

*Dashboard and Data Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, interactive dashboards using Business Intelligence (BI) Tool such as Tableau or Power BI. Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading to support reporting needs. Implement and perform routine data validation and quality checks on source data and dashboards to ensure efficient loading times and user experience.
*Design and Planning: Create user interface mock-ups and wireframes with Figma for new and enhanced dashboard designs. Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct formal requirements gathering.
*Support and Coverage: Provide proactive coverage of other team updates to dashboards that serve internal and external audiences. Ensure data integrity and dashboard availability.
*Applies graphic design principles and visual hierarchy best practices to ensure visualizations are clear, user-friendly, and effectively communicated insight.
*Write, update, and maintain Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) for dashboard development and report generation processes.
*Governance and Documentation: Support the development and maintenance of data-related policy development. Handle meeting documentation, ensuring all decisions, action items, and requirements are clearly recorded.
*Project and Communication Support: Offer project management support by tracking deliverables, time-lines, and dependencies. Maintain effective team communication & Coverage to ensure smooth workflow and information sharing.

Qualifications

Training: A Bachelor Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Substitution:
(1) An Associate Degree in a related field and two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in report design with one or more current specialized reporting tools may substitute for the required training.
OR
(2) Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in report design with one or more current specialized SQL reporting tools may substitute for the required training.
OR
(3) Successful completion of an authorized certification program emphasizing in the capabilities and functionality of the specialized reporting tools may substitute for two years of experience listed in (1) and (2) above.
