About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f.

Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located in Washington DC.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by monitoring and analyzing emerging cybersecurity threats, risks, and vulnerabilities; providing guidance and advice on cybersecurity best practices and procedures; and developing, analyzing and implementing strategies and plans for cyberspace operations.

Major Duties:

  • Directs and oversees the negotiation, deconfliction, definition, implementation, and analysis of cyberspace program policy and strategic and operational plans that govern interagency collaboration.
  • Develops, reviews, and implements command's mission and capabilities to contribute to strategic and operational planning which involves analyzing governance structures, advising on malware and cyber threats, and providing recommendations.
  • Coordinate with partner agencies to assess the effectiveness of collaboration, report on findings, and recommend improvements.
  • Oversees cyberspace community working groups, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure best practices are shared and implemented.
  • Oversees Command-level special/innovation projects to improve information operations processes, tools, and overall capabilities.
