Requirements

As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform cleaning duties throughout the facility.

You will complete general cleaning duties such as mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing.

You will also deep clean rest rooms, resident rooms, common areas, offices, and public areas.

This role requires understanding standard policies and procedures of the Housekeeping Department and ensuring completed work follows all regulations and guidelines.

In addition, you will move and lift heavy furniture, assist with snow removal, and dispose trash, recyclable materials, and infectious waste.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM), with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating days and weekends.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person (Experience might include such things as cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices or public areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, buffing, etc.)
  • Experience working in an assisted living facility, nursing home, or hospital.
  • Experience interacting with patients or residents while cleaning patient or resident rooms, or in a dining room setting
  • Experience cleaning bodily fluids and disposing infectious waste into proper storage areas
  • Experience removing snow, trash, and debris from sidewalks and entrance ways
  • Experience using and mixing chemicals or solvents
  • Experience using manual or power equipment to mop, scrub, sweep, strip, wax, and buff floors

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
