The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources is seeking candidates for Custodial Work 1 positions, which involve important manual tasks to maintain park facilities and their surroundings. Requirements

In this position, you will play a vital role in the custodial care of the Laurel Hill State Park Complex, which includes Laurel Hill, Kooser, and Laurel Ridge State Parks. Your work will directly support the bureau's mission to safeguard and preserve the natural resources of the Commonwealth. Your responsibilities will involve cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, bathhouses, and cabins, as well as scrubbing and polishing floors and furniture in park buildings. You will also be tasked with replacing restroom supplies, disposing of waste, and managing garbage throughout the park. Other duties include picking up litter, moving furniture, delivering supplies, shoveling snow, sweeping walkways, and mowing grass, along with any other related tasks as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026, until November 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027.
  • Work shifts/days vary, will work 5 days/37.5 hours per week to include weekends and holidays.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
