Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team that plans and manages the distribution of cruise missiles and hypersonic weapons for the Navy, ensuring everything runs smoothly and meets legal standards.

It requires deep knowledge of missile systems, threat analysis, and data technologies to support military operations and readiness.

A good fit would be someone with years of experience in defense planning, strong analytical skills, and the ability to advise on complex technical issues.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 level or equivalent in federal, private, or public sector
  • Knowledge of Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) and Hypersonic Weapons (HSW) mission planning, distribution, and execution processes
  • Understanding of kinetic and non-kinetic threats to TLAM and HSW for risk evaluation in operational areas
  • Expertise in Tomahawk Command and Control System architecture, including navigation and geospatial data integration
  • Familiarity with standalone and enterprise navigation, imagery, and geospatial data systems, plus complex data technologies
  • Ability to apply quantitative and qualitative techniques to analyze plans, rehearsals, and scenarios for mission readiness
  • Experience in paid, unpaid, or volunteer work that builds relevant competencies

To qualify for a GS-13, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge pertaining to Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) and Hypersonic Weapons (HSW) weapon system mission planning, distribution and execution processes and procedures and of weapon systems complimentary to TLAM and HSW.

Experience utilizing knowledge of kinetic and non-kinetic threats to TLAM and HSW sufficient to apply, evaluate and address established, as well as theoretical, risk to current and projected operational areas of interest.

Experience demonstrating knowledge of current and future designs of Tomahawk Command and Control System Architecture related to navigation and geospatial data processes associated with TLAM and HSW planning necessary to analyze and integrate current and evolving geospatial intelligence and multiple intelligence technologies and solutions into the mission planning process as well as the weapon systems configuration management roadmap.

Applying displaying knowledge of standalone and enterprise navigation, imagery, and geospatial data systems, and understanding of complex data technologies and related computer architectures supporting TLAM mission planning sufficient to meet or exceed command mission planning production goals as well as to mitigate external systems and services support upgrades and outages.

Experience applying quantitative and qualitative techniques and methodologies sufficient to analyze complex plans, strike rehearsals, and exercise scenarios; articulate observations and findings; and implement solutions to enhance overall mission/combat readiness.

  • You will plan, organize, and direct the activities of the TLAM and HSW MDS Division ensuring that CMSA LANT’s planning operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements as it pertains to the proper utilization of mission distribution.
  • You will advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management and develop, modify, and/or interpret performance standards.
  • You will perform self-inspection and presents detailed and comprehensive reports with any corrective action taken to supervisor.
  • You will provide technical expertise to support Program Management Activity (PMA) weapon system development efforts.
  • You will attend mission planning conferences to provide TLAM and HSW capabilities expertise and collaborate with other subject matter experts to ensure efficiency of fires, economy of force, and effective weapon to target pairing.
