Westmoreland County is actively looking to hire a County Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1. This position involves overseeing cases for both children and adults, providing tailored support for individuals with dual diagnoses who may not yet be eligible for waiver services. The Complex Case Dual Diagnosis Cross-System Coordinator will play a vital role in serving both adult and youth populations, focusing on individuals identified as Seriously Mentally Ill (SMI) who also have a dual diagnosis of an intellectual disability or Autism (IDA). This position is dedicated to those navigating multiple systems, such as Mental Health, Developmental Services, and Physical Health, who present complex needs that span these areas. Acting as a central point of contact, the Dual Diagnosis Cross-System Coordinator will ensure thorough case coordination and proactively address the diverse needs of these individuals. This role is essential for fostering collaboration among various program offices within the Department of Human Services (DHS) and engaging with external community partners. By streamlining care and reducing gaps within the system, the Coordinator aims to prevent cases from escalating into more complex situations, ultimately enhancing the quality of support provided to consumers.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Occasional need to work or attend meetings after hours or on weekends. Compensation provided.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time upon successful completion of probationary period.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Greensburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
